There are about 2,900 villages and hamlets abandoned in rural Spain that are being sold off for as little as 65,000 Euro (75,000 USD). That’s for the entire village… It was in the late 80s when a group of people got together to live in Matavenero. Collectively the villagers care for 3,000 hectares (7,400 acres) of beautiful wild mountain landscape.
